Advantages of Surveysavvy.
- It pays real money. Many survey sites reward members with gift cards, shopping vouchers or airtime. For example geopoll only rewards you with airtime, while triaba Kenya rewards you with gift vouchers. You don't have to wory about this with Surveysavvy, since it pays you in USD once you have a minimum account balance of USD.1. Since most of their surveys pay between USD1-3, you can easily reach the payment threshold. Most survey sites have a minimum payout of USD.10, but they stop giving you surveys once you are almost hitting the target meaning it becomes difficult to ever receive any payment.
- The fact that Surveysavvy accepts international members is another plus for it, since most survey sites only target members from US,Canada, Australia and Europe.
- Surveysavvy has one of the best and highest paying referral program, and apart from a good reward for every refaral you also get to earn from the refarals of your referral.
How to register with Surveysavvy.
Like almost all survey sites, Surveysavvy has a simple sign up process that is free
- Go to Surveysavvy.
- Fill in your details including your email.
- Submit.
You will receive an account activation link via email. Click on this link to activate your account.
For you to begin receiving any paid surveys, you must first fill in your profile details. This is where you give your details on areas like academic, health, media etc. Surveysavvy will use this information to determine your suitability for various surveys.
Whenever there is a survey that matches your demographic information, you will get an invitation via email. But before you are accepted to participate in the survey there is another in depth analysis to actually determine if you are the right one for that particular survey.
If you are lucky to qualify,(most Kenyans do not qualify for most of online surveys), you will be given the survey and get your reward once completed and accepted.
It is good to note at this point that with most survey sites, participating in a survey is not a clear indication that you will be paid.
Payment.
Once you complete a given survey, the equivalent amount of the survey will be credited on your account in USD. Once you have a minimum of USD.1 in your Surveysavvy account then you can request for payment.
Apart from participating in online surveys, there are other ways you can make money with Surveysavvy. These include:
- Participating in savvyconnect program.
- Referral program
- Contests.
Savvyconnect.
This is a desktop and mobile application owned by surveysavvy. It provides you with more options to participate in online surveys, and also pays you a monthly USD.5 for downloading the app, as long as the app is in your phone or PC.
On their part, Surveysavvy, gets to monitor your online activities and collects data as you surf the web. This data will be sold to researches for insights on online market research.
Surveysavvy cons.
While doing a research on this survey site and to determine it's advantages to Kenyans and Africans at large, I came across many complaints from various online users who claim to be Surveysavvy members or former panelists. Although I can't ascertain the validity of those complaints, it is only fair that I list some of these concerns, so that you get to make an informed choice whether to sign up with Surveysavvy.
I will later update this post to include links to sites with these complaints which include:
- Longer period it takes to receive payments. This affects almost all Surveysavvy members, since it pays through mail. And at this time and age, there is no clear reason as to why they should not pay through such platforms like PayPal, Skrill or payoneer.
- Some are not comfortable with using savvyconnect, since before you download it you have to give it access to your browsing history, and although it recognises private browsing or incognito mode, many feel that $.5 is too little an amount to pay for such critical and vital personal information.
Final recommendations.
Surveysavvy has many pros compared to many survey sites, and would have been a great way to earn passive income for Kenyans and the developing countries in the world.
However, due to its in depth pre survey analysis, am positive that very very Kenyans, if any, can qualify for these surveys, and making any meaningful income from such surveys is all most close to impossible.
Referrals would have been a better alternative, but since your referral has to first earn by filling surveys for you to get paid also makes it another hard task to earn from Surveysavvy.
If you are therefore looking for ways to make online income from in Kenya, I suggest you keep looking.
